ABOUT THE GUIDE
A practical guide, kept with care.
NYC Open Mic Guide helps musicians find welcoming places to play, listen, meet people, and keep making music across the city.
Why it exists
Open mics and songwriter gatherings often live in scattered posts, group chats, and word of mouth. This guide brings the useful details into one calm place: when to arrive, how signup works, what kind of room it is, and where to confirm the latest information.
Community-kept, owner-reviewed
Anyone can suggest a listing or correction. Every change is reviewed before it becomes public. Accuracy confirmations and “I played here” check-ins help show that a room is active without turning the guide into a rating platform.
Independent and human
The guide is independently maintained by Todd Seydel. It is not operated by or formally affiliated with the listed venues, hosts, or events. Times and formats can change, so always check a venue’s latest Instagram post or website before heading out.
